Since to download the bulk of the videos on the site you have to upload your own (or pay), people are naturally going to find something they can upload to get to the downloads. Expect to see a lot of reposts of YouTube finds.
Not necissarily a bad thing, seeing as many disappear (like the pakistani/turkish woman man I hated to see that go)
I can understand why this policy is in place, but unfortunately I think it will lead to people choosing other sites over it, like youtube (if you can get it under their terms of service). |

By TheWAMbank manager - manager@thewambank.com Sat 28/10/06 05:23:28 GMT Website: www.thewambank.com Hi John, I am very sorry that this happen to you.
The things are really simple.
The wam bank will not allow duplicate files on the site and the moderators should delete those as they spot them. The wam bank will not allow other user’s stuff approved to the site. Any material that are a possible stolen from another site get in the quarantine and the one that post it get an e-mail to confirm that he is the owner of the clip.
You get the mail us and in the mail we told you to prove us that the video it was made by you. Instead of communicate with us you post a negative feedback on this forum about us….
I repeat the moderator that delete your clip did not know that you make the clip originally BUT he knew we already have the clip on the site. And because it was about a TV clip that it can be captured uploaded by anybody the moderator delete the clip.
I understand that you are upset but this is just not the way we can solve the things
Best regards, TheWAMbank manager.

By JW - Fri 27/10/06 02:30:57 GMT Website: http://www.eddaardvark.co.uk/wetlook Hi all,
This seemed like an interesting idea so I decided to upload one of my clips to see what happened. This is the reply I got.
~~~~~~~~ We are sorry to inform you that the video you uploaded "Wedding Ring" (weddingring.avi) did not meet our content rules.
Reason: Scene already on our site too many times.
For more about our content rules please click on the link below: http://www.thewambank.com/infos-contentrules.php
Additional comments by the moderator: -------------------------------------
The clip is already on the Bank
~~~~~~~~~~
So it seems that someone else is benefitting from the work I put into generating all these clips while I get nothing in return. What happens if I post more clips on my site? Will someone immediately upload them to this site and profit from my efforts. I've published 100's of AVIs over the last eight years and I'm not happy that others have decided to appropriate them for their own benefit.
I don't suppose there's much I can do about it as all these clips are taken from the TV.
Regards John
