Yes it is mostly Muslim, but it's also an asian country. In that part of Asia - Muslim or not, mostly girls swim in clothes. It's like that in Muslim Indonesia, but it's also like that in Thailand or Vietnam. And locales swimming in clothes are also common in many other places (many African countries of different religions, Polynesia - despite it's liberality etc). I think only people living in the country, with knowledge of the present and past can tell us why it is as it is. And everyone here seems to know Malaysia very good :). Please also remember that Malaysia has (or had) a women as president. Unthinkable in ost Muslim countries and also many western ones...

In reply to Message (25215.3.2.1) what exactly do you KNOW about life in Malaysia ?
By Latin - Thu 12/10/06 20:46:41 GMT What exactly do you KNOW about life in Malaysia ? What do you know about the role, teachings, and biases of Islam or any other religion in this country? How many of the people depicted are actually Christrians, Buddhists, or Non-Believers? Is your knowledge-base broad enough to judge a whole country and millions of people?
Do you know how many girls/women in Malaysia oppose or love bathing in clothes? Look closely at the pictures and you'll find women and men in a variety of attire -- as in all Asian countries. Some of these ppl wouldn't look favorable in Bikinis; maybe they are happy NOT to be forced by custom to wear bikinis or western-style bathing suits. Indeed local customs can act as strong social restraints among people with weaker or insecure egos. So, how many western women would embrace the Malaysian style if they really could choose? Look at the candid pics from western and from Asian countries and you will find people who have fun; regardless of what they "have" to wear. |

By sjakie - Thu 12/10/06 16:56:03 GMT Most of the videos, posted on youtube are from girls who don't want to get wet in their clothes. Malaysia is a free country. I think they have a choice. And if they don't. They could always say No, I dont go in the water in my clothes. I prefer to stay dry. You better enjoy the pics Courier found after a long time searching.

In reply to Message (25215.3) There is something I do not like about it
By plonss - Thu 12/10/06 16:16:56 GMT With respect Courier, there is something I do not like about these Malaysian girls bathing with head scarves. That is, that the majority of these girls would probably like to go into the water in a bath suit, when they would have had the occasion. I live in a moslim country, I know what I talk about. What I prefer is wetlook of girls who like to get wet in clothes, and still prefer it when they are allowed to wear bikinis. That is something that arouses me and makes happy. Would appreciate comments. |
