Bikins and bras use different material. Different colours, styles ... And of course, this has different connotations. To me, a woman walking around in a bra would make me a lot more ... interested ... than a bikini. Bras tend to be more likely to be designed to be elegant and attractive, bikinis are more likely to use rather childish colours and designs (like spots and stripes). Bikini tops whose straps are placed directly around the neck look rather odd, also.

Bras tend to follow and enhance the shape of breasts, whereas bikinis, like full swimsuits, tend to do their best to not flatter the wearer. Swimsuits should not cling like "babydoll" t-shirts as it's not very streamlined in the water and bikini tops tend to be equally unattractive.

But then, there are different kids of bra. The soft, thin ones that cuddle the breasts are sexy to me; the tough ones that look like they're made out of the same cardboard as egg cartons and leave the breasts as untouched AS egg cartons, are rather ugly, both by themselves and under wet clothes. There's nothing sexy to me about a thick cardboard bustier ...
