2006 has been a very bad year for celebrity deaths...my hometown hero Buck Owens, my favorite gameshow host Peter Tomarken, and now Steve Irwin. I watched his show many times, and it was very cool. Of course the best ones were when Mrs. Irwin got wet.
A new company from Australia has just entered the pinball machine manufacturing business, after buying the intellectual property from the once Williams Electronics (now WMS Gaming), and will now make new pinball machines under the Bally name. Their first machine is The Crocodile Hunter! What timing! I womder if Steve's death will help sales of the machine, or hurt it since there won't be any new Crocodile Hunter shows, although it will probably be around in reruns for a long time. I wonder if this machine will contain wetlook scenes of Mrs. Irwin. I hope this new pinball company is successful. Until now the only pinball manufacturer left was Stern Pinball, after Willials exited the amusement business to concentrate on slot machines (like former video game manufacturer Konami did too).

In reply to Message (24612) RIP Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin
By Frank (the noname) - Mon 04/09/06 02:46:57 GMT Very sad news from Australia. Famous "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin left this world far too early at the age of 44. He was killed by a Stingray barb. Isn't this ironic...? Some infos here on Reuters:
Guess, why I started watching his shows in the mud and waters of the jungles and the seas. But very soon this guilty pleasure turned into an open one, no matter if there was some WAM-related scenes in the single episodes or not.
Big salute from Europe to Australia,
Frank
