Don´t try to find any deeper sense behind those events - it´s just about having fun! Even the title of the event (Dirndl Flugschau, Dirndl Flugtag) is a joke, as well as the "jury" or any "prices". They are judging the "creativity" or "expression" or "technical perfection" of the jumps, kidding those terrible skating or high diving competitions. That´s why even men take part sometimes.

All of the events I have seen posted are organized by a local dirndl company since last year I think, they are also providing the dirndls. So we are talking about some funny marketing idea of that company. Maybe their marketing director is a wetlooker.....

So, men and women dress up in traditional clothing. They jump in the lake fully clothed and drink gallons of lager. But why? Is it a competion or are they all wetlook fans? I see someone has been presented with a bunch of flowers. Did they win?
