I live in a small neighborhood with a lake in the middle. The lake is owned by the people who own the houses around it, myself included. None of it is public property. My property lines extend out under the lake. We do the work and pay the bills to maintain it. I've had people park in front of my house, walk through my yard, and party in my back yard. I find trash and beer bottles in my yard. My canoe has been used and abandoned across the lake. My flag pole was bent one night. I've found underage kids drinking in my back yard. If some underage kid sneaks into my back yard, gets wasted, takes my boat out, falls out and drowns, do you have any idea how much trouble I would be in? Their parents could probably sue me for everything I own. Besides, wouldn't they think it was outrageous if I parked in front of their house and partied in their back yard? Swam in their pool? How is this different?

The lake at which I live close to has been a wetlook goldmine for a long time. I used to get wet there and you could see a lot of wetlook almost every day. Now the tenant has engaged a security service. The lake is encircled by a dozent black sheriffs with dogs 24 hours a day. This morning they ran arround the lake with their dogs and megaphones and ordered people to leave the area. I met them a few minutes ago because their cars were parked in the no stopping zone and blocked the way to my car park.

Imagine you live not even 100 meters from a lake, and you can not go there because someone is not willing to share this spot of nature.

I wonder when the divers start fireing rockets at people who just want to go swimming.

Black sheriffs with dogs... it's so rediculous!
