| You've brought back some good memories. I loved those ads when I first saw them, and everytime I saw a woman smoking a Virginia Slims, I fantasized dunking her just like they did in the ads...back then, I thought I was the only one with this fascination of wet clothes. |

Now that the disclaimer is out of the way... Years ago I ran accross some Virginia Slims ads in TV Guide. I was lucky enough to find an online archive of tobacco ads that contained the very ads I recalled from the late 1970's / early 1980's.
The ads were part of the Virginia Slims advertising campagn with the theme of "You've come a long way baby... to get where you got to today". Each ad featured a short illustrated vignette describing how women were punished back in "the bad old days" for the unfemenine behaivior of smoking cigarettes.
