I don't recall such a clip with Jane Asher...nor Jenny Hanley either. Neither Jenny nor Jane were that young in 1977 anyway...cos they were born in 1946 and 47 respectively, so both were over 30 by 1977 anyway.
However, it does sound like the sorts of stunts they often did on 1970's shows like MAGPIE or TOMORROW'S WORLD or HOW!.
A similar scene that was a favorite of mine from that era was...some show like TOMORROW'S WORLD..where they wanted to measure how people's heart rate changes...when they are subjected to ice cold water. They had this very nice young lady in a pretty blouse and skirt...seated on a chair in a small plastic pool...and they hooked up various wires to her...to measure her heart rate...and then they proceeded to pour buckets of icy water all over her...
All I can say is....I dunno about that girls heart rate...it certainly sent my heart rate right thru the roof...ha ha
Dammit...I had that scene on tape and hundreds of others from the early to mid 1970's....until one day in 1977 when I went to work and some buggers had robbed my house, taken my stereo, tv, tapes and even had the cheek to load it all up in my mini cooper and take that as well..all while I was up in London working. Sheesh...they could have all my electronics and my car...those are replaceable...I just wish they had not taken my 3 earliest compilation tapes too.

By leonmoomin - leonmoomin@madasafish.com Sun 16/02/03 22:48:50 GMT A very early WAM tv memory of mine was a public safty advert in the UK (around 1977, god, I'm getting old! Eek!), it was all about the danger of leaving kettle flexes and hot drinks within reach of children.
It featured a younger Jane asher in a white skirt and blouse. To demonstrate the scale of hot liquid falling on a child, a large amount of liquid was dumped on her from above, completely soaking her outfit in what looked like cold tea or coffee.
Anyone else remember that? Perhaps MK has the clip? If not, you should try to get it, it was a good one!

I've posted a few images from this at the above address, though I don't think they are as good as the ones on the soaking stars sight.

I've been experimenting with the AVIs and some combinations of options don't always work with windows media player. (I use mplayer2 as it's got none of the superflous frills of later versions.) This plays all the 5.03 AVIs I've posted so far but turning on the physchovisual enhancements confused it. If you download the divx package it comes with a divx player which plays everything I've thrown at it so far.
