I'm pretty sure it was Jenny Hanley (I'm sure MK will remember it!).
Later than that, which you might also remember, was an advert for a shampoo called something like "Country Born" in which a woman in a rather fetching outfit was shown rather ecstatically washing her hair outside in torrential rain. Does anyone from the UK remember that ad?
Another missing wetlook scene from back then is an early appearance by Sally James on Tiswas (possibly her first show) in which she was dressed up in a blouse and skirt as "Aunt Sally" playing a game of pin the tail on the donkey blindfolded. Unfortunately (or fortunately - depending on how you look at it!), she pinned the tail on the Phantom Flan Flinger and got deluged with water and gunge as a result! This sticks in my mind as most of her WAM scenes in Tiswas saw her wearing a T-Shirt or a denim waistcoat, rather than anything smarter.
She always aggravated me at the lengths she (or the director) went to avoid getting WAMmed on the show. Chris Tarrant rarely got through a show unscathed, but for Sally to cop anything was something of a rarity. |

By leonmoomin - leonmoomin@madasafish.com Sun 16/02/03 23:01:06 GMT After all, I was only 4!
I remember it being on during the Tiswas adverts, along with the Green Cross Code man and Duncan Goodhew's Learn to swim adds.
Its amazing how far back into my childhood I can remember my interest in wet clothes. Didn't really know why I was so interested, but, I was!

By leonmoomin - leonmoomin@madasafish.com Sun 16/02/03 22:48:50 GMT A very early WAM tv memory of mine was a public safty advert in the UK (around 1977, god, I'm getting old! Eek!), it was all about the danger of leaving kettle flexes and hot drinks within reach of children.
It featured a younger Jane asher in a white skirt and blouse. To demonstrate the scale of hot liquid falling on a child, a large amount of liquid was dumped on her from above, completely soaking her outfit in what looked like cold tea or coffee.
Anyone else remember that? Perhaps MK has the clip? If not, you should try to get it, it was a good one!

I've posted a few images from this at the above address, though I don't think they are as good as the ones on the soaking stars sight.

I've been experimenting with the AVIs and some combinations of options don't always work with windows media player. (I use mplayer2 as it's got none of the superflous frills of later versions.) This plays all the 5.03 AVIs I've posted so far but turning on the physchovisual enhancements confused it. If you download the divx package it comes with a divx player which plays everything I've thrown at it so far.
