No I have not written such things. A very common web log analyzer is Webalizer. You can found more information at:

http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/

Good thing: it's free. Bad thing: It's not very easy to install and configure it.

The report shows you a per user statistic where you can find hits, files downloaded, and traffic used. Have a look at:

http://www.trabant-cross-cup.de/logs/usage_200605.html#TOPUSERS

It's a site of mine. The log format is in German, but it should be clear what it states: Anfragen=hits, Dateien=files, kb=traffic, Besuche=visiting counter, Benutzer=user. Of course, the default language of webalizer is English.

Sounds like you've written such a thing.  Is that true?   How much does it cost?

It looks like your members section is secured with apache htaccess. If this is the case the user name is logged with any site access in the webservers logfiles. All you have to do is get e good website statistics tool which evaluates your logfiles. These tools can calculate the traffic raised per user. If you are interested in that, email me.

Let's say you have a website with a member's section, and you'd like to know how much data each individual member downloads each day, and how often they log in.    How would you go about it?   By using Perl with cookies perhaps?   If so, would users have to log in using Perl to make it work?
