These women are believed to be pregnant with alien beings. These alien beings are most comfortable in a water environment. Now since these women are about to give birth the best place for them to do so was in the water. In the last frame the woman laying on the beach could not make it to the water so one of the alien creatures came and got her.

I think that the "Invasion" series is fantastic. I am saddened to hear that it will be cancelled.
