I'm wondering whether anyone has pictures of women swimming in rubberised or vinyl raincoats, of the sort that were popular in North America during the 1970s (and are now, I note, making something of a fashion comeback, led by the brightly coloured wellies that used often to be worn with them thirty years ago). There's nothing so exciting as a woman who's wearing a brightly coloured, impermeable coat that's meant to separate her from the elements, but who's allowed herself to be overwhelmed by those elements nonetheless. I'm fascinated by the moment when she loses her footing whilst wading, or founders into unexpected depths whilst boating, and feels the cold of the water rushing against her body and is all of a sudden swimming in a piece of clothing that had been intended to protect her from this very fate.
Here are some catalogue pictures of the sort of raincoat that I'm talking about (except, alas, dry): http://www.yesterdaysmoment.com/raincoat.htm
Any pictures of these wet?
