Re Ruislip Lido: Last time I went there (a long while ago) there were 'No Swimming' notices at various obscure places round the edge, though that didn't stop me going in fully clothed... However, the lake bottom is about six inches of mud and general ooziness, so you need another swim to wash it off your clothes ;-) There was quite a bit of water skiing there, and I think I remember some girl being pushed in off the water skiing pier ;-)

By wetimer - Wed 03/05/06 14:29:59 GMT Can anyone help?
I recently bought a car. I spent an hour today driving round the countryside north of London looking for a river or lake to dunk myself in, and couldn't find ANYTHING!
I know there's a drought going on but this is ridiculous!
Anyone out there know of any good places for swimming in clothes in this area?
