By ender - Mon 01/05/06 20:00:55 GMT I have to agree with InterWet - the problem is not specific to a certain page, or family of pages from what I can see; but if you try to load a large image (click the link under the default picture) and it starts to crawl along, I find that closing the window it opens and clicking again persuades it to load at its normal speed (sometimes - not alot - I have had to repeat this a few times).
I can't say what the cause is, but I have managed to get around it. Also: If it is the default pic that is loading slowly, clicking the full size link below it will load the picture fast (!!!) - it will likely still be loading on the main page after you close the full size popup window <shrug>.
Well, good surfing. |

By AnthonyX - anthonyx@jowc.net Mon 01/05/06 16:23:57 GMT I don't see anything wrong here. Images seem to load as fast as ever. Of course, it is Webshots' interest that the advertising always performs well... after all, that's what pays for the service, right?

By InterWet2001 - Mon 01/05/06 15:46:47 GMT Perhaps this was addressed while I was out of town and I missed it, so if this is a repeat question please excuse me. What is going on with the Webshots server lately? I have NEVER seen it run this slow. It loads the ads pretty quickly but the smallest of pics takes such a long time all of a sudden. And as for the Full Size pics, forget it. It's worse than dial up. I have gotten the same results on all four of my computers here and no other sites (other than some of those really slow Russian and Czeck sites) are running unusually slow--- just Webshots. Everything else appears to be loading at normal speeds. Anybody know why? Thanks. IW2001
