Leon is an example for us all....it just goes to show....if you have a vision and the motivation....you can do anything you want and be anything you want to be. The little things like how to use cameras and technology.....you can always learn those things as you go -- Leon has self taught himself everything from photography to videography, from web design to video editing....you don't need to be a film student or a computer science major....if you have the will and desire to learn. The main thing is that you have a vision and a personality with charisma and can present this art form in a positive way and have fun doing it..

Leon has done a great service to the entire community, by helping the wetlook culture to gain wider acceptance in the mainstream.

Remember...until the 1950's homosexuality was illegal in the UK, and you could be prosecuted for being a pervert (e.g. as happened to Oscar Wilde), and it took the gay movement to bring things "out of the closet" and into the mainstream where it is today. In the 1980's most of us wetlook fans thought "we were the only ones born weird like this", and we felt alone or like perverts or deviants, and ashamed to talk about this with anybody else.

It is folks like Leon who are really helping to bring all this wetlook culture out into the open and accepted by the mainstream as being an accepted alternative lifestyle....and Nigel and his forum and Derek and his forum are the major catalysts and pioneers just as Leon is.

The wetlook community has "arrived"....and this previously unknown culture is now even published in the online Encyclopedia WIKIPEDIA ...

Six Years ago yesterday a new guy came onto the old bravenet wetlook forum and asked of the following picture, do you like my girlfriend?

Trying to set up a yahoo account, he found that all the combinations of his name were taken, so as his then girlfriend thought he looked like a moomin, he put leon and moomin together and leonmoomin was created!

Then followed the first ever, which outfit next forum votes!

Six years later, the guy just won't go away!

Thanks to everyone who has supported me and given me encouragement over my time on-line! Particularly to Mark, without his financial support and advice, i would have gone just as quickly as i'd arrived!
