Tks for the info....sounds very interesting.
One can only hope that this might get aired on PBS "Great Performances" or the Bravo Channel sometime..cos this is where they normally show televised versions of off broadway plays.
FYI..You have a cinematic version of the broadway play CHICAGO opening in the movie theatres very soon (with Catherine Zeta Jones)....which is a must see if you are a legs fans like I am (wouldn't we all like to see a version of "Riverdance" done some day...done in a real river...ha ha).

In reply to Message (1831) Wetlook on Broadway
By New York - anonymous Thu 16/01/03 13:16:28 GMT I'm not sure if this has ever been posted. It probably has, but I figure there's no harm in posting again...
There's a play running on Broadway called Metamorphoses which contains wall to wall wetlook. The play is basically a reinterpretation of Ovid's classical mythologies. It's a beautifully done piece of theater. It also is almost fully staged in a pool that goes from a few inches deep at one end, to about 3 1/2 feet deep at the other.
Fully clothed characters act the entire play in the pool (or on the platform around the pool). They walk around in the pool, they often roll around in the water, and they even at times splash the audience (lightly, and audience members are given towels for "protection").
The (wet) women's clothing varies from modern pants/shirts, to dresses, to classical gowns and robes. Some performers are completely drenched, while others only partially, depending upon the dramatic needs of each scene. Note that there are an equal number of wet men as there are women (all the actors get in the pool, not just the women). There's also one scene with a naked man (but unfortunately, no naked women!).
Anyway, the play is closing soon, but if you're in NYC, catch it while you can, and keep your eyes open for a traveling company.
The website for the play is: http://www.metamorphosesonbroadway.com/ But note, there are no wet pics on the site.
