Apparently they were both drunk, and fancied a walk along the river bank on the Thames in the early morning. On some parts of the bank along that area there is pebblely shingle, but also thick deep mud and you won't realise which is which until you've stepped on it.
They were both extremely lucky to escape with only hypothermia. Had the tide been coming in, as opposed to receding, then by the emergency services own admission the chances of their lives being saved would have been slim.
If they are mud-lovers then may be next time they will do their research better!! |

By wetfan - Tue 31/05/05 13:49:55 GMT I saw an article in a uk paper about to guys who had to be rescued from deep mud in the thames recently. The article said it was unclear why they were in the mud in first place and I was wondering if they were a couple of mud lovers having fun?Does anyone know anymore on this?I know this is a wet forum but I am just curious. |
