I used to have a number of webshots albums with pictures of family, girlfriend, etc for public viewing since it was the easiest way to share pictures with friends. However, when you belong to webshots you get a weekly report from them indicating the number of hits and downloads per album. I noticed before too long that a few of my albums were drawing an unusual amount of traffic, far more than the others. Because of this I made them private. I suspect that once an album owner sees the onslaught of hits to a specific picture or album they figure something's up and remove the album or picture. When that happens, you get the "moved or no longer exists" message, which is the truth! |

By G.O.P. - Tue 05/04/05 12:55:34 GMT Why do so many of the webshots links say "this picture no longer exists?" When someone puts a picture on webshots, do they get a list of sites that had hotlinks to the picture? Do the album owners know that they are getting linked to from this site, and some decide to remove the pictures because they consider this site to be perverted? Kind of like that one church site that blocked the link and blasted all of us as "sexual addicts?" |
