| When ice rinks are closing for the winter, they sometimes hold an 'Abtaufest' (also called 'Abtauparty'). During these parties, people continue skating while the cooling (or whatever they use to keep the ice frozen) is turned off until the ice is completely melted. |

a few day ago I saw some pictures, posted by Rumpel. Some of them show pictures off girls wet in winterclothes. It looks like the girls had skates under there feet. It had something to do with an "abtaufest".
What is a abtaufest
