MK  is  right,  to  all  those  who  look  for  Albany  fun  each year,  I  have been  working  with  Austin Peay St  Univ.  to  hold  an  annual  event  which  is  along  the line  of  some of  the other universities.   Due  to  the  fact  I  prefer  outsiders  not  attend  this unless invited,  I  cannot  give  you  the  date  which  the event will take place, but  I  can  tell  you  I  have   4  camera people  ready  to  cover  this Spring  college  event  which  will include:  The  great  dunking  machine...(2)  A  giant  5ft  high  30  ft long  inflatable  water  slip n  slide  and  (3)  a  portable  swimming  pool  that  we  are setting  up.    With  these  3  wet  events,  we  are  sure  to  get  lots of pictures  and video  footage   to present  to  the wetlook  community  after  the event  takes  place.   All  we  need  is  your prayers  and  finger  crossing  for  sunny     warm  weather  the  day  of  the event  so  all  the student  won't  mind   getting  completely  soaked  and  not  get  cold in  the process.

More  to  come on  this  event  as  it  happens sometime  in  the  next 30-60  days.

Yes...Albany is officially "dead" as a wetlook venue...we already knew that a couple of months ago. The tradition was basically "killed off" by rowdy drunken kids at the events in 2003 and 2004. The events used to start at noon and last for 4-5 hours. Thens in 2003 and 2004 a lot of inebriated people started showing up and fights were breaking out and last year there were over 25 injuries that had to be handled by the paramedics.

The Wetlook tradition was great until 2003...that is when people were showing up and throwing green dye into the fountains and causing mayhem. In 2004 the University tried to curb the problems caused by alcohol...and so they placed an alcohol ban at the event, and banned all bags from being carried in too (to stop people hiding alcohol in their bags)....but that never worked....cos all that did was....it caused all the college kids to "tank up" in their dorm rooms first...so they all got blotto before coming to the plaza.

So...this year....they have basically decided to restrict things as much as possible...and instead of the fountains being on from around 11am till 4pm....this year the fountains will not get turned on until some time between 3pm and 4pm (they are asking folks to play a guessing games as to when they turn on the fountains)....so by the time they get around to turning the fountains...they will not be on for more than 20 mins before the days events will be ending. Also...in a pathetic attempt to avoid all the fights and injuries that happened last year....they are attempting to divert people's attention by staging a "world record pillow fight" instead. This in a really brilliant idea....lets avoid all the fighting and injuries that happened last year....by staging a mass pillow fight this year. Obviously they must not be teaching "Physics 101" at the college.....otherwise they would know that a pillow may be a harmless tool when it is dry....but if you soak a pillow in water.. then you have a 10 pound weapon in your hands that can knock somebody's head off...ha ha....I can see the headlines on the 6 o clock news now....

Anybody who thinks a pillow is a harmless tool.....just consider what happens to a towel when you soak it in water.....you can do somebody some harm....

Anyway....as a wetlook event it does not matter that the general public are no longer allowed entry....we already wrote this off last year as a disaster waiting to happen...

BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS......I will not say too much.....but lets just say that while Albany may be dead.....Weinerking has done an excellent job of promoting events like this to a college in Tennessee.....so stay tuned to WeinerKing and the Liquid Ladies website.....cos the tradition may now be dead in Albany.....but something new will soon be happening in Tennessee very soon.

Looks as though they are restricting the people who can go to the Fountain Day At Albany State University... too bad, but it may restrict the pics we normally expect from this event
