I appreciate your point of view and I can understand what you mean.

But let me just point out, which reasons I have to love pants:

- pants cover the skin of the entire legs and lower body, what is an attractive imagination to me.

- skirts and dresses veil the shape of the legs, butt and hips... pants correspond with the shape of the body

- pants cover the skin of the legs down to the feet, but skirts are just too short - they appear just like shorts

- I actually don't want to see legs - I want to see clothed legs, with the fabrics sticking to the skin - most parts of a skirt do not stick to the skin as it doesn't cover the entire legs.

My (admittedly sexist) 2 cents worth...

I prefer to see women wearing skirts or dresses rather than jeans or slacks for the following reasons:

o Skirts and dresses are specifically female attire; jeans and slacks are at best "unisex". I'm not all that interested in seeing a woman dressed in the same type of clothing I might wear.

o Skirts and dresses allow a woman to show some leg, which is otherwise hidden by jeans or slacks.

o Skirts and dresses allow a woman to show her legs in stockings or pantyhose... very nice when wet.

o Women are more likely to wear heels with dresses or skirts; when wearing jeans or slacks, they are more likely to be wearing running shoes or some other flat or low-heeled shoe. Heels always make a woman look more sexy.

About the only thing which could be said in favour of jeans on a woman, is that a woman with the right shape can really show it off in a tight pair of jeans.

About the only thing which could be said in favour of slacks on a woman is that thin white or light-colored slacks can look kinda sexy when soaked and at least partly see-through.

I suppose, that many english men prefere skirts and dresses, as most ladies wear them in England. The same with Japaneese, for instance. For them it is women's attire. For people from other countries pants are as much women's attire as skirts are. I saw EuroWAM TEAM's first tapes on which the girls wore tight stretch- pants or leggings. For me this is the most female attire I can imagine!

I went to a british barracks last week end as my friend promoted her new book in the shopping center right in the middle of the military area. All the wifes of the british soldiers used to go shopping there. I noticed, that quite a lot of them wore dresses and even mini-skirts - even though it was pretty cold. I think that much more british ladies wear skirts than germans do, for instance. And british men seem to be used to it. In german discos, most girls wear tight pants of any kind (not only jeans). This is my kinda "women's attire" and the best a girl can wear in the water. And I don't think, that tight stretch pants are typical male attire ;o) I think, that more girls in british discos wear skirts.

Am I wrong, or is it a matter of where people come from? That would be very interesting to investigate.
