   I have often wondered what my Grandparents did regarding wetlook. Have I inherited something from a family ancestor, or have I in some way been influenced by an early unremembered childhood experience.One thing I do remember that had a profound effect on me as a youngster was just before bed when I was about 8 years old, I had a freshly made hotwater bottle I was carrying rupture and empty its very hot contents all over me. I was in my PJ's and an aunt of mine that was a school teacher who was visiting us that evening grabbed hold of me and dunked me PJ's and all into a bath of cold water. Once I was cooled down, I was wrapped in a plastic sheet and carried to bed where I slept all night in my wet PJ's (dry by morning) inside the plastic sheet. I was unwrapped in the morning, my Mum very worried as to how much skin damage I had sustained, but to everyones relief, I had no scald marks or deep burns.Did that experience reinforce my liking for wetlook? I don't know what the answer to that is, but it illustates that an experience like that in early childhood could start something off.
