Hi FF,

 

Thanks for the feedback. It was starting to feel a little lonely doing all this. The scrolling banner is intended to be an attention-getting device more than anything else... certainly not an attempt to show off, and I believe it does have one merit over a fixed list - it takes less screen space. The same information (without the whiz-bang scrolling) is available at the bottom of the IWDB main page; a link appears at the lower right.

Thanks for that information.

 

Your little scrolling list across the screen is impressive and shows your proficiency with HTML.  Unfortunately, IMHO it falls into the category of "whiz bang" technical things that actually make it more, instead of less difficult for the user.  While its impressive, its not nearly as usable as a simple list which wouldn't require me to sit at the screen and wait for the scroll do get to the part I'm interested in.
