Item 3.....close....but no cigar...ha ha. You are right...the word "Sweeney" is correct...but not Sweeney Todd.

This is from the classic UK tv series "The Sweeney" (1974-77)...one of the best uk cop shows ever made (I wish they would show it again over here). They also made a movie based on an elongated episode of that series...and thats the scene I think you see in that clip....the actress in that scene is Diane Keen. The series was produced by the same production company that later made THE NEW AVENGERS and THE PROFESSIONALS....John Thaw was a terrific hard nosed detective in The Sweeney....much better than the wimpy tv detective he played 20 years later as Inspector Morse.

FYI...the phrase "The Sweeney"....is cockney rhyming slang for "The Flying Squad"....cos the series was about the UK police "Flying Squad"....Flying Squad = Sweeney Todd...get it...the last word rhymes....

You will need a book to know all the cockney rhymes...e.g. on "Are you being Served"...when somebody says "he looks a bit ginger"...it means...ginger beer = queer = gay etc.

Yeah It's only John's clips I have problems with cuz of the file names he uses(Not a knock on u, JW)So with his, I have to really become a detective. Or depend on y'all for corrections!!Thanx Anthony

Hey WIR, you're doing a great job on the clips, just thought I'd help with a couple of corrections:

1. First clip is from the movie "Star Trek: Insurrection", not the TV series "Star Trek: The Next Generation". See http://www.jowc.net/iwdb/production.asp?id=8 for more

2. Second clip is from the 1991 TV movie "Jailbirds" with Phylicia Rashad and Dyan Cannon, not "The Babysitter's Seduction". Although Phylicia Rashad appears in both, Dyan Cannon's long curls could be mistaken for Keri Russell's, and Dyan was still looking pretty good at about age 54, she is quite unmistakeable in the closeups.
