Yeah, I dnoo if Bonaroo is a good place for doing wetlook shoots. Someone pointed out that most everyone will be wearing the bare minimum because it's usually over a hundred degrees during the day. Plus everyone is going to be all sweaty and dirty, which will make the water pretty gross, pretty quickly. Not to mention that everyone will have muddy feet at the very least, and some spun-out wOOk will probably piss in the pool. It's a good idea because people will be in a great mood and have the desire to cool off in a pool, but 80,000 people is a big crowd, and this particular crowd definately can have a sketch factor to it. (I hit up lots of festivals every summer, see.)
It's a good place to do a barely-clothed muddy dancing hippie video, but I'd say that's about it. |

It is really tough....to control unruly crowds. Leon and Wet Brian can tell you what happened last year when we tried to set up a portable pool in the street at the Songkran water festival last year. Nobody was using it for the purposes we wanted them to use it...and people kept using it to fill up their water buckets or they were trying to lark about and destroy it.
People at rock concerts will be very rowdy...when you say
"having a decent sized pool would creat a frenzy of people wanting to jump in?"
That just means a frenzy of people will likely destroy your pool.
Leon's dunk tank is easier to control...cos only 1-2 people can go in at a time....and his indoor pool inside the clubs is well controlled by night club security people.....but having a portable pool set up at an outdoor concert in the middle of some field....unless you rope the area off and have 4-5 security people controlling the area for you....things will just get destroyed...
...and like I said....with people covered in mud....you will have dirty muddy water...and you cannot see decent wetlook from grubby water anyway. |

By (WK) - weinerking@bellsouth.net Sat 01/01/05 19:09:52 GMT Website: www.liquidladies.org Yea, my thoughts were more in line of water fun as oposed to mud bowls, When they hold this event, it begin to warm or heat up in this part of the region with higher humidity and thus having a decent sized pool would creat a frenzy of people wanting to jump in, but being an outdoor concert fest, most women would probally be in shorts and halters, midriff tops..etc... What to do... hummm should we talk about this... (WK) |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Sat 01/01/05 17:33:33 GMT Hi WK.....they have a similar thing happening in the UK each year with the Glastonbury music festival too.
The only slight problem is....I think most wetlook fans like to see a girl with nice hair and nice clothing getting wet....once a girl is already muddy...I think wetlook fans are not that interested in seeing a girl who is already muddy and all messed up...then washing off afterwards.
Thats kinda like a car wreck scene in a movie...i.e. nobody want to see a beaten up already dented old car getting smashed up....what folks like to see is a pristine new Ferrari getting wrecked.
I have done many surveys with my customers over the last 15 years...and you cannot do wetlook scene after you have already done a messy scene...cos nobody wants to see already destroyed clothing and hair getting wet as an afterthought.
Wetlook needs to be done where the girl is pristine before she gets wet....not already covered in mud & mess.
Wetlook scenes need to be done SEPARATELY...not added at the end of a messy scene.....at least...thats what 90% of my customers tell me...i.e. hair and clothing are important...and they want to see that go from pristine to being wet....so once a girl has gotten her clothes and hair all messed up....it's "game over"...no point to shoot wetlook after that.

By (WK) at Liquidladies - weinerking@bellsouth.net Sat 01/01/05 16:21:11 GMT Website: www.liquidladies.org This festival is held in Manchester Tn. each Spring with tens of thousands of concert goers..(like Woodstock).. Seeing these groups of muddy people has given me an idea, that ifI had the help, A large pool could be set up on the land on the Festival and you know young groupies.....Where there is water there is soon to be fun. This could be arranged this year, but I would Need HELP and Assistance setting it up and pulling it off. (WK) |
