Me too...I agree with you totally. I don't like to endure inane films either....that is why the 2 greatest inventions I have been using for the last 25 years is..
1) the high speed scan button on your vcr remote 2) the "mute" button
I have over 27,000 clips from tv shows and movies...and guess how many of those tv shows or movies I have actually sit thru and watched all the way thru...with the sound turned up....probably less than 10%. It is very rare for me to actually watch a movie all the way thru in real time...I am too busy to do that. Life is too short to be watching and listening to the likes of Kelly Ripa, Fran Drescher, Britney Spears and other airheads.
I have a videowall with a stack of 9 tv monitors on all day...and the only channels I ever actually watch or listen to...are news channels or documentary channels like Discovery Channel and the History Channel. All other monitors have the sound turns off.
We rave about many movies that have wetlook scenes....but mostly the movies are total crap and not worth sitting thru.
Look at the critics list for the top 100 best movies of all time...i.e. Citizen Kane, Shawshank Redemption, Casabalanca etc...and almost none of the greatest films have decent wetlook in.
Reality is...great movies very rarely have decent wetlook. And all the films with great wetlook...are crap movies that you don't need to waste your time sitting thru.
Separate your hobbies.....go see a great movie for what it is. For wetlook movies....don't expect to see good film.
Being from New Zealand...i am sure you can relate to the Lord of the Rings made in your country.....great movie trilogy....zero wetlook.
As for Anaconda and Lara Craft movies...the first Anaconda movie was mildly entertaining...but the wetlook was crap. Both of the Lara Craft movies were total crap on both counts....don't waste your money renting them. |

By AndyNZ - Wed 24/11/04 17:54:29 GMT Thanks. Yes, we have power and internet. Next year we get cars!! :) Anyway, the reason I asked the question about the movies in the first place, was because I didn't want to endure what appear to be two quite inane films, of no interest to me whatsover. |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Wed 24/11/04 02:04:15 GMT 1) As I recall..khaki and baggy....not good wetlook in the first Anaconda movie....there is a sequel coming soon that may yield better results
2) The 2nd Tomb Raider had no wetlook at all (only scuba suit stuff). The first Tomb Raider had some wetlook but it was very minor and not good wetlook either.
I know they have electricity down in New Zealand...and you appear to have internet access too....maybe one day you will get movie theatres and television and videostores too...just kidding.... |

By AndyNZ - Tue 23/11/04 17:05:20 GMT Hey, firstly, what kind of pants are the women wearing in the movie Anacondas? Any jeans, or anything tight? And, is there any wetlook in Tomb Raider 2, and if so, what is she wearing? Thanks. |
