It is certainly cheap in comparison to uk home prices. As we saw in the housing models on display at the shopping center in Chiang Mai...a brand new 5 bedroom house with a pool can be built for only $50,000 (28,000 quid)....and a nightclub or bar can easily be purchased for a similar amount too. And housemaids and servants only cost $100 per month.
I could sell my home in Florida and live like "Hugh Hefner" in Thailand...and live in a very nice home with a bar business in town, and employ 40-50 girls to feed me one grape at a time...ha ha.
I could even have the first live action "screen saver"...i.e. have a big window next to my pc....and employ 20 to 30 fully clothed girls to swim up and down in my pool and past my window all day long...ha ha...and then push a button every 30 minutes....which would light up a big sign by the pool that says..."everybody out of the pool....and get changed into a new outfit"...cos I get bored seeing the same outfits swimming by for more than 30 mins...ha ha |

Thailand is a cheap place to buy property and live.
The expensive part will be transporting all Mark's videos over!

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Mon 27/09/04 12:29:14 GMT Yes thanks.....just a lot of clean up to do in our area....but my house is very sturdy and suffered no damage at all....just a lot of flooding and trees blown down in our area. For the 2nd time in 3 weeks I pumped out 12 inches of water off the level of my pool...and we got a foot of rain to re-fill it back up again. Actually there are a lot more dangers after the storm...cos all the traffic lights are blown down at most intersections...and there are numerous traffic accidents cos people are blowing thru the intersections...not realizing that the lights are out. Some of my friends were not so lucky as we were. My friend who has a Dive Shop near the beach...had his entire roof blown off his store and his business is a total loss.
Leon is suggesting that I sell up and move to Thailand...ha ha....might not be a bad idea.....open up a resort over there....buy up a bar or nightclub and install showers and a pool and dunk tank....hook up a big satellite disk for uplinking video transmissions...and install webcams all over the place...and broadcast live wetlook shows worldwide...might be fun.
