I disagree. The policeman was probably bemused, and then laughed his head off when he got in the car and drove away. But cops are kinda supposed to be more accepting than some of the posters on this forum (i.e. "To each his own"). But as for wetlook in the heartland, I think it's a lot about where you can look. Remember, it was Denver that I spent all day clothed at the water park, and while I was the only one in long sleeves and pants, I was not the only one clothed. Further north, where creeks and rivers are clean enough to swim in, the occasional swimming hole draws a spontaneous swimmer or two; while canoers in MN/WI sometimes wear pants against the sun but get out for a swim to cool off. The trick is just being there when it happens, and THAT has always frustrated me to the limits of my temper! |

By Doug - Dress2Splash@hotmail.com Tue 17/08/04 02:24:49 GMT It's a totally different story in the American Heartland. With exception of a FEW - and I mean FEW - of the fountains in Kansas City, there is no fully clothed wetlook in the American Heartland. |
In reply to Message (11713) friendly police and wetlook
By Jtsmark - jtsmark@yahoo.com Tue 17/08/04 01:47:36 GMT Last night I went swimming at my favorite lake in Del Valle/Livermore CA. It was a warm, beautiful night and I spent quite some time in the water. When I got back to my car there was a police car waiting in front of my car. I stood right in the headlights dripping wet - jeans, sweater, down jacket and boots. The officer informed me that I was not allowed to be in the park past the curfew. We both walked over to the entry sign, me squishing along in my waterfilled boots. In a very friendly tone he explained the rules and then left. Wetlook really isn't that weird to others. Go out and enjoy!
