Raft races in the USA used to be fun. Then:

1. Safety concerns took over, liability insurance killed some of them. I remember a great one on the Potomac in Washington DC about 15-20 years ago. Much excellent wetlook. It was the last one. Insurance.

2. Every participant was required to wear a life vest - which pretty much killed the wetlook aspects.

I hope saner heads prevail in the UK!

This Sunday I will be attending a raft race/gala day at Gorleston,near Great yarmouth Norfolk,England.

I have not been to this event before,or to a raft race held off the BEACH! So I will be hoping to get some good video and stills of not only the entrants,but the spectators wading into the sea!
