Then you have definitely earned the right to use your curmudgeon's license. Gee....so how come you only seem to be interested in 1960's and 70's style wetlook...cos if I had been born earlier as you were...I would have been more interested in wetlook fashions and styles from the 1930's and 40's. I was born in the mid 1950's...but have always enjoyed the vintage stuff from the 1930's & 40's movies...that JJ & Wetfan often display for us.
BTW...one thing about that curmudgeon's license....when you reach 80 years old in Florida...they make you re-take the test again if you want to keep on driving....so I guess you will need to keep honing your skills and staying active on the forums.
Heck...most people who reach 80 can hardly remember their name...while your faculties seem to be well honed and razor sharp all the time. It sounds like you have led a very interesting life.
I would like to travel back in time to the 1930's and 40's if I could...only I would bring a camcorder with me.,...ha ha.

By Sopping - katakai@verizon.net Mon 26/07/04 03:39:44 GMT Yep..That's why I occasionally invoke my curmudgeon's license!
My first wetlook photos were taken in 1947 and were posted in the "Sopping's Sentury" section on Total Wetlook, before it was closed.

By Sopping - katakai@verizon.net Mon 26/07/04 02:33:04 GMT I am now almost 80. I traveled on the riverboat on the Songo River when I was 4-years old! My mother and I traveled on the boat, as my father ferried the car to the other end of the route. It was a steamboat, and I remember the whistle...it was a beaut, as my father blew the horn of the car at the locks, and the ship responded.
Not really off-topic, and thanks for the memories!

By soggybottom - Mon 26/07/04 01:36:24 GMT That is hilarious. The second one down is not from The nothr shore of Sebago but the south end of Long Lake in Naples, Maine. The two lakes are connected by the Songo River. I just arrived home from there Friday. In the background is the Songo Queen riverboat. Rick's Restaurant is the big building. Directly behind her and to the right is the float plane dock. I spend two weeks a year there. |
