It is unfortunate that the "Sir Watermelon" posts were already deleted. I did not have a chance to read them (and judge for myself as to either their merit or the poster's possible affiliations).

In the absence of a complete picture, it just seems to me that the alleged posts would have been originated by some troll with a beef against Nigel and/or Styx, and found an effective way to do what trolls always do - stir up trouble needlessly. If the posts in question are rubbish, surely they can simply be deleted - quietly. Does rubbish demand a rebuttal? Are we crediting the forum readership with no ability to exercise critical thinking?

Although I have had only limited contact with the folks at Styx, my impression is that they are very much a "class" act i.e. conduct business in an open, fair, ethical, and responsive manner. I really believe that they tend to take the "moral high ground" and would therefore not stoop to "slagging the competition" - and I'd hardly consider superlative claims eg "we're the best" to be slagging anyone off.

I don't believe there is any need to rehash the differences of opinion which led to Kev & Graham vacating this forum and starting one of their own. I think it is very much the sort of difference where rational adults can simply (and amicably) agree to disagree, and still respect one another's opinions and one another.
