I set the vcr on 2 of the Greek channels last night (Mega Cosmos & Antenna) to see what they would show of the celebrations...they DID cut to some fountains scenes now and again on Mega Cosmos channel...but I am not exactly sure where those live transmissions were coming from.....i.e. not being able to read the Greek captions, it was unclear to me if those live shots were coming from Portugal where the game was, or from some of the cities in Greece. Nonetheless, there were some people playing in the fountains....but you could not see much of anything, cos it was just a big crowd of people in bad lighting...like watching an "ants nest at night" ..so none of the details could be seen clearly.

In reply to Message (10993) Greece: Champions in football, but not in wetlook!
By Panayiotis Constantinides - ukpconstantinides@btinternet.com Sun 04/07/04 23:22:15 GMT I was hoping to see some good celebration scenes with wetlook following Greece's victory in the Euro 2004 Final yesterday but I was totally disappointed! Although I stayed out on the streets for over two hours after the game had ended, going to squares and plazas with fountains, there were no wetlook happenings at all. On the news, there were scenes only from a Greek town where people were going into a fountain but there were only men and boys and the fountain was too shallow anyway. I'd imagine that elsewhere in Europe, girls would be going into the fountains like crazy; I can recall the game of England vs Sweeden two years ago, which had ended as a draw (1-1) but at Trafalgar Square I saw about 10 girls getting wet, either in England football shirts or in other clothes.
