Too bad about the leather dye leaching out like that. It totally depends on the type and quality of the leather and the tanning process whether it will lose its dye or tanning chemicals in the water. Ironically it is the more expensive leathers that you are afraid to get wet that usually hold up the best and don't turn your water dark. As far wetlook in leather, some like it, some don't. For me it just wouldn't be wetlook if I didn't have my leather pants and biker jacket on when I go for a swim! Good leather conditioners will keep your leather in good shape for lots of wet fun. |
In reply to Message (10933) never again? - wet lether
By one of ten bruces - Wed 30/06/04 07:35:06 GMT Hi wet boys and girls! last weekend my wife and I had a frustrated "wet fun" in the tube. she want to spend me a birtday-special do it in a black lether-skirt. but there was a bad surprise, that the black lether loose so much dark brown colour in the tube - she finished the "experience" frustrated with a couple of "neveragains".
so my question: is it always a such a strong colour effect after short mins in the water? loose the lether always colour until it gets bleached...?
