I've heard people having mixed experiences with leather. Probably best to assume that it will be ruined and consider yourself lucky if it survives.

Leather usually needs some reconditioning after a soaking to replace oils which get washed out, otherwise it can shrink, become brittle and crack. Since color often washes out too (as you noticed), leather is bound to fade with repeated washings.

Unless you are hooked on the experience of the genuine article, what about vinyl or pvc clothes instead of leather?

Hi wet boys and girls! last weekend my wife and I had a frustrated "wet fun" in the tube. she want to spend me a birtday-special do it in a black lether-skirt. but there was a bad surprise, that the black lether loose so much dark brown colour in the tube - she finished the "experience" frustrated with a couple of "neveragains".

so my question: is it always a such a strong colour effect after short mins in the water? loose the lether always colour until it gets bleached...?
