We wanted to marry there this year and last year we talked to the people organizing the event. MK is right, it is an event for scuba divers only. Many, many people are interested in this event every year and only a few couples are chosen. They accept only experienced divers.
The main focus of the event is a kind of festival around the marriage which takes place within the city of Trang including an elephant ride and a parade. Not the way we wanted to celebrate...

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Thu 12/02/04 14:32:03 GMT Unfortunately....this promotion is very misleading (for us wetlook fans)...cos in all the years this has been going ( at least the last 7 years) and I have captured numerous tv clips on this and lots of pics...there has never really been anything decent at these events that any of us would want to see. Each year they post loads of pics..and 80% of the time the couples are wearing wetsuits or swimsuits....and almost never any lady wears a wedding dress. All they do is use a wetsuit or white swimsuit with a veil.
This is really an event for "scuba" fans...not for wetlook fans.

By Chester - sgroi@spamcop.net Thu 12/02/04 12:31:03 GMT Website: http://underwaterwedding.com/ Every valentimes day there is a mass underwater wedding that takes place in Trang, Thailand. People from all over the world attend this event. Sometimes one can get some fair underwater and surface wetlook from either news video clips/pics from places like your local news, http://CNN.com, or http://news.yahoo.com (look under 'news photos.' Or rarely one may find good wetlook at the official website referenced in the link above. Thai Air's website used to have a pretty cool video a few years back but no new stuff lately there.
Oddly enough, the http://underwaterwedding.com/ site has actually very FEW underwater pics of the underwater weddings. Letters sent to them inquiring about possibly buying videos or pics of UW weddings have gone unanswered. However, one never knows what may appear in the future for one can hope. :-)
