I would rather prefer the performers to be female, and if the rainstorm does occur, it would be spectacular - think Diana Ross in Central Park in 1983, or during the closing ceremony of the 2002 Commonwealth Games. |

By Gopher - Wed 30/07/03 01:29:35 GMT No..not looking too good for wetlook. Checked forecast too. Tomorrow would have been perfect. Rain all day... The site is a huge former AFB and difficult to hose down everybody on the runways and grass. Still.. I'm 45 min away ..Will be a terrific concert.. wetlook or not.. Think I'll go dig out the sunscreen

By AnthonyX - anthonyx@jowc.net Wed 30/07/03 00:17:34 GMT I just checked the local weather... mostly sunny, no chance of rain. The site has no pools or ponds. With all the restrictions about what concert-goers can bring in, I think the only chance for wetlook will be if the performers have water to spray on the fans.

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Tue 29/07/03 15:40:06 GMT That may be.....but fyi, there is a wetlook connection to Stones concerts...cos for many years it was customary for Mick Jagger to walk on stage with buckets of water and to soak the girls in the front rows...I have seen many old clips of those scenes where he would throw buckets of water or hose down the people in the front rows. I dunno if he still does that these days...cos the old geezer just turned 60...
FYI...when the Stones played at Crystal Palace concert bowl in london in the UK and also at the Hollywood Bowl...there was a small lake in front of the stage to separate the artists from the audience...but then all the girls would wade into the lake to get nearer to the stage..I have clips of those scenes too.
