Come to think of it MK, you are quite right. I don't know if SHakira is conciously in competition with Mariah Cary, but it sure does look like it. If you ask me, Shakira is trying to surpass all the American women pop stars. Many of my friends have compared her to Briteny Spears, others with Madonna, and now, Maiah Cary.

But which music video of Shakira's were you referring to? "Whenever Wherever"?

For wetlook trivia fans...

has anybody else noticed this...i.e. the close facial resemblance that Shakira has to Mariah Carey...

Shakira seems to be a reincarnation of Mariah...with 20% improvements in all areas...i.e. better looking, way way better body, and comparable singer too.

Now..take a look at Shakira's latest music video...it is almost a carbon copy of Mariah's latest music video..i.e. walking the street in jeans in the rain...I thought it was deja vu when I compared the 2 videos...

Do you think Shakira's trying to send Mariah a message..
